2010 THE MELEE | NEW RELEASE
This is blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, LaGrein, Shiraz, and Touriga. This wine is crimson red in colour. The nose is bursting with exotic berries – blueberry, cranberry & strawberry to name a few, along with cassis derived from some ripe Barossa Cabernet. The palate is full of the same “juicy” wild berry flavours with just enough acid and tannin to prevent it from being just another Aussie fruit bomb. Delicious.

2009 The Marriage Shiraz/Cabernet Sauvignon | NEW RELEASE
This second vintage 2009 The Marriage is a production of 130 dozen. This new release is a wine which speaks of the essence of the regions from which it is sourced and the varietals that have made them famous.
Vineyard Region: BAROSSA VALLEY and COONAWARRA
The shiraz is sourced from our estate vineyards which are nestled in the sub-region of Dorrien at 250m above sea level. This is a prime location for our premium vineyard due to the climactic and soil aspects conducive to grape growing.
The cabernet sauvignon is sourced from a vineyard in the Coonawarra where the terra rosa soils give the wine that true earthy character that the Coonawarra has become renowned for.
Grape Variety: SHIRAZ
Maturation: The shiraz is matured predominately in new French oak for 21 months. The medium toast long (MTL) barriques are chosen for their roasted toast characteristics, which adds complexity and a fuller mid palate.
Winemaker: Neil Pike, Clare Valley
Winemaker Notes
Co lou r: Deep red .
Nose: Rich ripe blackberry and plum fruits from the Barossa shiraz, with a touch of blackcurrant/cassis from the Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon and complemented by refined, well integrated toasty, charry oak.
Palate: The palate is rich, soft and virtually seamless, with neither variety overwhelming the other. Subtle oak again complements the fruit, whilst the tannins add backbone and length.
Aging potential : Approachable now. As with our shiraz wines, this blend will continue to age well in the bottle if stored in a cool dark place.
Wine Analysis: 1 4.5 % Alc/vol.
