Spring is sprung and what do you do during this time of year when the sleeping vines are slowly awakening? You enter wine shows!
At Paulmara we make wines we like to drink and that suit our region, our soil, and the varieties we grow. So it’s always reassuring when we hear from others that we’re doing something right, whether it’s an Instagram message, a text, or a customers verbal endorsement. It gives us the warm and fuzzy’s and reminds us why we do what we do.
The same goes when you see GOLD next to your wine in a wine show results booklet. There are so many good wines out there, consumers are spoilt for choice, and to be on the same stage as your piers who have such enormous followings and long history’s behind them, it reaffirms that you’re doing something right.

None of these awards or points would be possible without the dedication of Paul and Jason. Paul tends to the vines like they are his children, nurturing them, talking to them, assisting them in their growth. He really does love the long hours he spends in our vineyards and with each season he looks forward to what lies ahead and does everything he can to ensure they produce the highest quality fruit possible.
Jason’s attention to detail and organisation is unrelenting. When our grapes come into the winery, we know they’re in good hands with him. He leaves nothing to chance and is hands on from whoa to go. He’s as passionate in the winery as Paul is in the vineyard….We make quite a good team!
